Find a Penny Pick It Up

Yesterday I took my kids to Target. In front of the store my 7 year old son found a penny. He picked it up and looked at it closely. Then he said to me very excitedly, "Wow mom! This penny is from 1971! That is really old."

Yup, that's sooo old.

My kids were shocked when they found out I have lived in the 70's, 80's, and 90's. They looked at me like I was a dinosaur.

Hahaha...funny. I'm 27. I have a 10 year old sister. She noticed me cracking my knuckles and asked if I ever have knuckle pain. I said no and asked why she asked. She said to me "Mom told me not to crack my knuckles because when I'm old, they'll hurt." Um...thanks Sis. LOL

Thanks for swinging by my blog! It's not always a gross place to be. LOL, just today.

Oh man. It's so sad to think that the 70's is ancient these days.

When I first started teaching school at the age of about 21 or 22, one of my students thought that I was REALLY OLD.... I was shocked!!! Of course, they thought that 22 was old!!! ha ha

Cute post.

Betsy

now this would really be ironic if you were born in 1971, but I don't think you are THAT OLD!!

geesh, though, I was in 9th grade in 1971 and my hubby graduated high school 1971, now that is old

Was it heads up? Otherwise tell the kid to put it back.

1971 old? I wonder what he might have said if he found a penny dated 1960?

Yep, but Daddy's older ;) Heh heh. Gotta love their perspective. Just remember it will all come back to them in spades someday. Just hope we don't have Altzheimers at that point!
