Sick

On Thursday my 5 year old came home from school with a fever of 102.5. I took him to the clinic that night. They said he probably has swine flu.

This was really bad timing. Friday was his classroom Halloween party. He couldn't go. Friday was my husband's office trick-or-treating and Halloween party. My son couldn't go. Friday night was the school Halloween Bingo event. My son couldn't go to that either.

Since my son was home sick on Friday that meant I couldn't help with the school Halloween parties that I had previously signed up to help with. And I couldn't help to set up for the school Halloween Bingo, that one that I was chairing and that I had been planning for the last month.

My 5 year old was feeling better on Saturday and he was able to go trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. By Saturday night he had passed his flu germs onto me. So now it's my turn to be sick.

Oh no, Cookie! Take good care of yourself, girl. The H1N1 is some pretty nasty flu. If you think I'm kidding... follow this link:

to Atilla The Mom's Blog Cheaper Than Therapy, and read up on the ordeal she's having with her son who is in critical condition because of Swine Flu. Not to scare you, sweetie, but just so you know how potentially life-threatening it can be. Get well soon! And I mean it!

Bummer for you -- I hope you're feeling better soon. BUT as bad as the timing was, better than having your child leave in the middle of the Halloween party at school and having to send out the email to the rest of the parents in the class apologizing for exposing them to swine flu because of the 103 fever your child had. :)

Oh -- and that wasn't me. We've been blessed so far this winter. We got that one and TWO apologizing for strep exposure this past weekend. Yikes!

Now I know, when I have kids and they get sick, EVERYONE WILL BE WEARING A MASK & DRINKING VITAMIN C.

Yikes, you're better off being careful than to have fun- allow lots of rest n recovery time at any rate.

Good luck getting the family over the ickkyPoo flu- n not passing it around more, which is scaring folks alot lately-

Well soon, all of you!
