The kids were given a piece of paper with a list of animal to find in the garden. We found a spider, a slug, a monkey, 2 doves... all but the three geckos.
Here is a picture of my kids in the beginning, looking with amazement at one display.
The grapes were one of my favorites.
I also liked holding mars this big red ball.
After waiting a few minutes the kids were able to pose for 5 seconds in front of this tree.

It does look beautiful indeed. Those grapes are enchanting. We went to our trail of lights a couple of nights ago and it was as magical as ever.

How pretty! Austin has something called the Trail of Lights, which used to be a mile-long, um, trail of lighted displays. But thanks to budget cut backs and such, they scaled it way down this year, to the point that it wasnt' worth going, at least according to friends who schlepped their families down. I hope they can restore it, because I'm as much a kid about pretty lights as my kids are.

Cookie, your boys are just darling and those pictures are breathtaking! I can't take night shots no matter how hard I try and yours were perfect. I also love that you did something so special with the kiddos. They will always remember these moments in their childhood... and what more magical time of year is there than Christmas!

That's a pretty cool thing. I like how you aren't quite so ummm cold and icky and wet and ... well, like the weather we have here! Those are some gorgeous lights!
