One is Never Enough

My 7 year old son has started a new collection. Some of you may wonder what a 7 year old would be interested in collecting these days. He already has a collection of Pokemon cards. And a rock collection, hot wheels, quarters and other things. But I was surprised by his latest collection.

Yup, he has collected three erasers from the tops of pencils. That may be strange enough for a normal 7 year old. But if you've been reading my blog, you might remember that it was only 2 weeks ago when my son stuck this same kind of pencil eraser in his eraser (You can read the post here). The school nurse couldn't get it out. The ER doctor couldn't' get out. The ENT almost couldn't get out.

So why not have a collection of them, right?

seems reasonable to me; as long as he just collects them and not use them as ear plugs I think its a wonderful collection :)

Ya know if you put those in your mouth n spit them out, they make good missles...
Don't think they'll increase in value much over the next 50 years tho-

My brother stuck Noddy's bell up his nose when he was a kid, and no one could get it out. He's had an obsession with bells ever since! Actually he hasn't, but I thought it may make you feel better about your son's eraser collection!

Sounds like the start of an obsession. :)

My daughter has started collecting acorns. They are everywhere. And, she can immediately assess a pile of them and tell if I've pilfered a couple and thrown them away.

That is too funny. Thankfully, my kiddos aren't accident-prone, just mischief-prone. Thanks for your comment on my post. Feel free to drop a line anytime. I will be posting you on my blogfeed. Love your kiddo stories. Very entertaining.

BTW, you're right. AF is the best. That is from another AF brat, so no bias here either. ;)

After the ear incident I'd be throwing them away!

On the up side, at least he hasn't developed a fear of them :)

I definitely remember yanking those out of pencils as a child, too. They're nearly impossible to wedge them back in once they're out though.

Omgosh that is too funny. My girls have yet to start collecting things. After reading this I am not excited for that time LOL.

Sounds like you need to rename your 7 yr old to Eraser. Ha Ha... Seems as if he has a real interest in them. I just hope that he doesn't try to put another one in his ear. Yipes!!!!

Cute post, Cookie.
Hugs,
Betsy

Hey it makes sense to me... and it beats the pine cones and acorns that the wee ones are now BOTH collecting -- and insisting on bringing into the house.

Collections are quite popular with 7 year old boys. Your little boy is too much though.
