New Adventures

Last night I put the kids to bed. Then my husband and I sat on the couch to watch some TV before going to bed ourselves. (I don't know why The Biggest Loser is so addictive, but it is.) Around 9pm, we heard our 5 year get up, go to the bathroom and go back to bed. I said to my husband, "Isn't it nice that our son is old enough to wake up and go to the bathroom all by himself?"

I was wrong.

Around 10pm I went upstairs and went into the bathroom. I found my 5 year's pajama shirt in the toilet. The bottoms were in the trashcan. The bath mats were soaked. What happened in there??? I'm starting to think that my kids like to come up with new ways to surprise me. I really thought he was just going to the bathroom. I guess had gone to the bathroom, but this is not what I had expected.

I went into my son's room. He was sound asleep and soaking wet. My husband I changed his clothes and changed his bedding and took his temperature. He didn't have a fever. That was a relief.

This morning I asked my son what happened last night. He looked at me and said, "Mom, I don't know. I woke up this morning and my clothes were changed!" He was very surprised.

Perhaps he was sleepwalking?

These kids really do like to find new ways to keep me busy every day.

Sorry, I'm trying to stop giggling long enough to comment. I HAD one of those!! He used to get up and wee in his closet, toy box-- whatever. I spent many days in near tears outside scrubbing toys and things that should never, ever see urine. Definitely think you have a sleep waker :-)

My son has done that before. He came downstairs one morning, but he had a completely different shirt on than the night before. He didn't remember what happened so I assumed the same thing...he was sleep walking. At least he was a dry sleep walker though...ha, ha.

Thank goodness they make big kid "pull-ups"...I have one who sleeps so soundly that an atomic bomb wouldn't do the trick. Easier to wait for thier development to catch up then worrying about the ways they can soak the bed, clothes, bathroom, etc.

Too funny! I must admit that I love screwing with my kids while they sleep . . . Maren loves having her toenails painted, but I refuse to do it when she is awake, and instead paint them while she is napping. The look on her face when she wakes up and sees them is PRICELESS!

Hee hee! I know I shouldn't laugh but ummmm wow. Yeah, he was walking in his sleep. Mister Man never remembers getting up to pee, but luckily we haven't found any ummm bad instances. Yet. Knock on wood.

This is funny and so, so cute! My daughter sleepwalks sometimes. It's the oddest thing..her walking around with her eyes open like she's aware of what's happening, but she really, really doesn't have a clue.

Both my kids sleepwalk and it can be a bit weird to see. My 10 year old rushed down the stairs and tried to open unlock the back door and go into the garage. When I stopped her she said "you can be so bloody irritating!!" I was totally shocked!

Wow. That is crazy. I have a sleep walker too. She has yet to leave her room. I usually hear her fumbling around her room and I go in and put her back to bed. Bathroom sleepwalking sounds much more exciting LOL.
